Vindpower

There are currently over 250 wind turbines in Norr- and Västerbotten and the establishment continues, including wind power parts for Markbygden. The park is being built by Markbygden Vind AB, which is owned by Enercon and Svevind, and could become Europe's largest wind farm.

This year's handling of wind power at the port of Haraholmen has reached new heights and increased employment significantly. "Our flexibility and previous experience of this type of handling, together with new storage areas of 66 square meters, have been a success factor in the overall operation working as planned," says Ola Isaksson, Terminal Manager at ShoreLink Terminal in Piteå. The first parts arrived on June 000 from Emden in northwestern Germany and consisted of concrete elements. "By optimizing all handling, an efficient overall solution from factory to assembly on the construction site has been achieved," continues Ola. Today, mainly converter parts remain to be handled at the port, i.e. blades, pipes and generators. Normally, a ship has close to 4 concrete parts and is unloaded in two shifts.

The wind turbines are model E92 137 and have three rotor blades that are each 46 meters long. The heaviest component is the generators, which weigh 65 tons. Uddevalla special transporter is responsible for transport from port to site and this year's handling involves almost 2600 loads. The installation of the turbines at the site takes place in parallel and is carried out by different work teams. First the concrete is lifted into place, then the heavy pipes and nacelles.

The assembly work will end in week 47 and is planned to start again during week 12 of next year. In the meantime, there are opportunities for continued wind power handling and storage in the port.
