50 additional employees at ShoreLink

Here at ShoreLink, a period is now beginning that will be unlike any other year. In addition to the usual hectic spring and summer period when ship traffic is denser than in the winter months, approximately 85 wind turbines will be delivered to the port at Haraholmen in Piteå starting after Easter. To cope with both the holiday season and the wind power loads, we are therefore hiring up to 50 extra people, which is significantly more than in a normal spring and summer.

"We are really pleased that we have received so many applications from competent potential employees," says Susanne Jangdal, CEO of ShoreLink. It is also gratifying that a large proportion of the applications are from women, as we strive for an equal workplace.

Some of those who applied have already been hired and several job introductions are in full swing. 85 wind turbines may not sound like a lot in number, but many of the turbines consist of over 70 parts, including three blades of almost 70 meters. Each part is very time- and resource-intensive to unload, transport to storage and then load for further shipping to the site where the turbine is installed.

"It's a big and important project for us and many others involved," Susanne continues. "I'm absolutely certain that we'll solve it in the best way possible, as our staff has extensive experience and good expertise in handling wind turbine parts."

All of this is just a taste. Next year, roughly double the amount of wind turbines is planned to be delivered at around the same time.
- It will be another challenge that we will take on with good experience from this year, concludes Susanne.
