Next season, ShoreLink will host one of Luleå Hockey/MSSK's matches in the SDHL and will then pay just as much as it would have cost to host a SHL match.
- We have discussed how we could contribute even more to equalizing the conditions between women's and men's sports. The decision was simply to be match hosts for Luleå Hockey/MSSK next season, but pay exactly as if it had been a match in the SHL, says Anna Malmström, communications manager.
The price for sponsoring women's and men's sports differs quite a lot and mostly depends on the audience figures and the accompanying exposure determines the value of a sponsorship.
- As a company, we are part of the market that influences the prices for sponsorship and then it is we who have the opportunity to influence and change. Our hope is that this initiative will create more equal conditions faster than the time it takes for Luleå Hockey/MSSK to approach the audience figures in the SHL, continues Anna.
ShoreLink, just like many other companies, has for several years supported local women's sports at an elite level, among other things to help level the different conditions that exist between women's and men's sports.
- We are very satisfied with our collaboration with Luleå Hockey/MSSK and their professional operations. Now we would like more companies to do the same or similar initiatives and in this way actively contribute to creating more equal conditions, concludes Anna.
