Northern Sweden is undergoing major changes with the extensive industrial projects that are emerging in the region. In line with this development, maritime traffic to and from the ports in Skellefteå and Piteå intensified, with ShoreLink as a central player in this expansion.
I Skellefteå ShoreLink has been instrumental in the establishment of a regular weekly RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) service with connections to Travemünde, Zeebrugge, Antwerp and Tilbury, operated by Wallenius Sol. This has created a stable and reliable transport connection for goods flows to and from northern Sweden.
Sea traffic has also increased significantly in Piteå. Wagenborg, with extensive experience in RoRo traffic, offers regular weekly departures to destinations such as Bremen, Sheerness, Terneuzen, Cuxhaven and Södertälje. In addition, the shipping company X-Press Feeders, in collaboration with ShoreLink, has recently expanded its operations in Piteå Harbor by increasing the frequency from every two weeks to a weekly service via Hamburg and Wilhelmshaven, with departures on Mondays and Tuesdays.
These expanded transportation options underline the growing importance of ShoreLink's operations in the ports of Skellefteå and Piteå, as central logistics nodes for the industry's needs in northern Sweden.
