After a period of planning, preparation and great commitment, the time is almost here. On September 28, ShoreLink will receive the first deliveries in the new SCA flow in Piteå. A new assignment thus goes from planning to reality – and on October 12, the first ship departure with SCA kraftliner is planned.
It has been an intense period for many of ShoreLink's employees in Piteå. New flows need to be in place, areas and equipment need to be prepared, and the organization needs to be ready. Now all the pieces are starting to fall into place.
For ShoreLink, the start is more than just a new flow of goods. The assignment is an important deal and at the same time an opportunity to continue developing the business and collaboration with one of the region's major industrial players.
– This is an important deal for ShoreLink and we are very pleased with the trust. SCA is a significant player in our region and it feels both fun and inspiring to be part of their logistics solution. We look forward to building a long-term and good collaboration where we can contribute our experience and expertise in port and logistics, says Niclas Stengård, Chief Operating Officer at ShoreLink.

Now it really begins
The first volumes of recycled fiber will arrive on September 28th, along with empty cassettes and other materials. Additional recycled fiber is expected on October 6th, and the first rolls are also expected to arrive around the same time.
Then the next big milestone awaits. On October 12th, it is time for the first scheduled ship departure with SCA kraftliner.
Behind the dates are many hours of work. Employees have been trained, new work steps have been reviewed, and the terminal has been prepared to ensure the flow functions safely and efficiently.
For supervisor Emil Gustafsson (top of picture), the focus is now on getting everything that has been prepared to work together in daily operations.
– There is a lot that needs to work when you start something new, and many people have been involved in getting all the pieces in place. We have prepared ourselves, gone through the working methods and trained the staff. Now we are really looking forward to getting started and working with the flow for real. There is a lot of commitment in the group and it feels very good that we are at the start, says Emil.
